Sodexo is seeking a Food Retail Manager 2 to support our operations at Troy University, located in beautiful Southeast Alabama. Our retail food court consists of 5 Nationally Branded concepts and 4 Sodexo Branded concepts; we will have 3 Retail Managers reporting to a Retail Operations Director.

Coverage of various units are subject to change as additional brands are considered. The successful candidate will:

  • Understand how to manage multiple venues– having a background with maintaining standards.

  • Have strong organizational skills – with a “Go-Getter” attitude and be able to handle the fast paced environment of a large food service operation

  • Be a visionary – always thinking towards the future: what can we do different next semester, next spring, etc… while handling the day to day food retail operations

  • Implementing and overseeing marketing and sales strategies to increase retail sales.

  • Have a strong hospitality focus - be engaged and interacting with our clients, students, faculty and employees.

  • Have a food retail background, (multiple venue and brand experience a plus)

  • Be able to multi-task

  • Have a strong work ethic.

  • Have flexibility in work schedules - based on needs of the business. (example: 6am - 3 pm or 4pm - midnight)

Position Summary

Responsible for food quality & customer service in an operation that may have branded concepts or other retail offerings. Directs the work of hourly & supervisory food service workers.

Key Duties

  • Ensures there is a zero harm mindset for ourselves, our customers, our food & employees.

  • Directs daily operations of food quality & customer service in a retail food operation that may include branded concepts ensuring that employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources.

  • Manages cash handling protocols & control procedures according to Sodexo policies.

  • Maintains client satisfaction for food quality & customer service.

  • Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery.

  • Supervises day-to-day work activities of food service workers.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent

Basic Management Experience - 1 year
