Sodexo is a seeking an Executive Chef for Metropolitan Methodist Hospital. Located near downtown San Antonio, Metropolitan Methodist Hospital, a campus of Methodist Hospital, is a 330-bed hospital providing a complete range of health care services in San Antonio and to the many neighborhoods and businesses that border its centralized location.
The Executive Chef will be responsible for retail cafeteria, catering and At Your Request patient dining. This position reports to the General Manager and is responsible for inventory, food management system, ordering and receiving.
Additionally, the position will be responsible for achieving high scores on audits and company gold check standards, monitoring of Safety, Sanitation and HACCP throughout all production areas. Must have good computer skills as well as great skills in training and motivating staff. Must be quality and customer focused.
Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.
Implements & coordinates the culinary function.
Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
Manages catering & retail areas.
Customer & Client satisfaction.
Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
Manages food & physical safety programs.
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
