Sodexo Corporate Services is seeking an Executive Chef 2 for a Corporate Services account with BASF Corporation in Durham, North Carolina. This corporate cafeteria features 6 stations and volume catering operations. Reporting to the General Manager, the Executive Chef 2 will have oversight of 9 kitchen staff members and will have full culinary responsibility for the dining program which serves up to 500 employees daily.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Executive Chef with corporate or contract dining experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Culinary skills to help elevate our dining program to the next level

  • Knowledge of purchasing, menu planning and development to include cycle menus

  • Food and labor costing

  • Strong culinary and BOH leadership with emphases on managing and mentoring kitchen staff.

  • Food Safety focus a must with training in HACCP.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.

Key Duties

  • Implements & coordinates the culinary function.

  • Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.

  • Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.

  • Manages catering & retail areas.

  • Customer & Client satisfaction.

  • Financial management to include food cost & labor management.

  • Manages food & physical safety programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
