Sodexo is seeking an Executive Director, Facilities Operations for a new account in the NY/NJ Metro area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full accountability for the delivery of all IFM services (including hard, soft, laboratory and logistics services). Executes deliverables, maximizes productivity, identifies and resolves issues,

  • Leads a staff of around 100 employees including 4 Direct Reports and contracted FTEs. Follows up on staff and suppliers to ensure work is performed safely, compliantly and correctly the first time

  • Develops and implements best practices for maintenance; facility services and operations

  • SODEXO’s face/representative to the site customer including Customer Relationship Management with key stakeholders

  • Responsible for all service levels (contractual and operational). Identifies and develops all self perform possibilities, identifies and delivers savings opportunities. Owns and drives asset management program implementation, as appropriate. Owns execution of supplier management and people management processes

  • Possesses mastery of the scope of services and all related contract documents, manages service levels to GREEN , Communicates issues, knows SL’s, KPI’s, brings forth new ideas, drives best business practices and innovations to improve contract compliance and add value. Own site governance process and deliverables

  • OWNS and manages all aspects of site budget. Works with Finance to ensure accurate variance reporting, reviews billings/contract issues with client to ensure understanding and approval/payment – escalates as appropriate.

  • Collaborates with SODEXO Quality and EHS teams to ensure statutory, regulatory and Merck compliance. Adherence to Data integrity policies, SOP’s, GES’s, QMS and EHS guidelines, follow site practice for RCA Deviation, CAPAs. Ensures all training, licenses and certifications are up to date.

  • Manages on & off account interfaces with numerous functional teams, i.e.: sourcing, finance, compliance, EHS, etc. Plays an integral role along with account team members to implement Merck account strategies and contract requirements.

  • Collaborates with Account Leadership, Operations Lead and others to identify new/expansion scope growth opportunities and potential OOS work. Adheres to contract change request processes to document and approve scope changes

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:

  • A proven track record of successful Facilities Management leadership experience in a GxP (GMP, GLP, GDP, GCP) environment at the Director level;

  • Experience working in pharmaceutical/life sciences environment managing service delivery in R&D facilities including office space, pilot plants, sterile suites, etc.;

  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen with a strong P&L understanding;

  • Exceptional customer service, relationship building and communication skills;

  • Experience working with outside vendors and subcontractors;

  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on staff development and team building.

Position Summary

The Executive Director of Facilities Operations leads or directs facilities maintenance operations of building(s) and property at a single mega-site or multi-site unit. This position may function as head of a small mega-site unit with three levels of management reporting up to this position; or may assist in the leadership of a large mega or multi-site unit reporting up to a VP, Facilities Operations. The Executive Director of Facilities Operations leads or assists in the integration of processes within the client organization to maintain and develop agreed services which support and improve the effectiveness of its primary activities. At the organizational level, the Executive Director of Facilities Operations may contribute to the delivery of strategic and operational objectives by reducing facility costs, and improving the productivity, revenue generating capacity and image of the entire organization. This position ensures a safe and efficient working environment, essential to the performance of the business. The Executive Director of Facilities Operations often manages construction work and may coordinate and/or oversee contracted services for major construction. The position often manages other core Sodexo services, and/or logistics of business/operations services, e.g., grounds keeping, laundry, food, security, inventory, mail, concierge services.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 7 years

Basic Functional Experience- 7 years in facilities management, engineering, management of business/operations service in both soft and hard facilities services
