Sodexo currently has an opportunity for an Executive Chef 3 to join our team at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE . This location is a very high profile, blue chip account in Sodexo's portfolio. This person will be responsible for the management of a high volume, fast paced retail, catering and patient nutrition environment. This 600+-bed acute care, teaching hospital provides the highest level of medical and surgical care using the latest technologies. With the recent opening of the Buffett Cancer Center, the location is a world renowned cancer treatment and research facility.

We are seeking an energetic Executive Chef 3 to guide and train the culinary staff, respond to customer needs and excel in a fast-paced environment. The Executive Chef 3 will oversee the day-to-day culinary operations of retail, catering and patient nutrition areas. High profile and creative catering experience is a must, with an attention to detail, the latest trends, and the ability to interface with executives and donors. The client is also very enthusiastic proponent of a Zero Harm environment.

Ideal candidate will:

  • Multi-task, and be a creative person.

  • Have a strong background in kitchen operations, systems, process improvement, human resource management, purchasing, and organizational skills

  • Have financial responsibility as well as supervising the staff.

  • Have strong knowledge in food safety and sanitation

  • Have a high level of computer experience in food management programs, POS programs and working knowledge of Excel,Word and Outlook.

  • Have great communication skills and the ability to train and mentor employees

  • Prior experience as an Executive Chef with multiple retail concepts, college/university retail or other high volume food retail venues is a plus.

Reporting to the General Manager the Executive chef will be responsible for all aspects of the culinary program and have additional operational responsibilities as well. Coupled with prior management level experience in a hospital environment, our ideal candidate will be a customer focused, innovative leader with exceptional culinary experience and a very creative mindset as well as demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and meet financial objectives.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a large sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree

Basic Management Experience - 3 years

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
