Sodexo Inc. Field Marketing Coordinator in NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana

Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a Technical Write r for our Universities account in New Orleans, LA . The primary responsibilities of the role include putting together client reports, press releases, student communication pieces, proofing marketing/advertising materials and capturing detailed descriptions that can be absorbed easily by end user, administrative, student and parent audiences. Candidates will be expected to submit a portfolio for review. This is an hourly, in-unit position.

In addition to strong communication skills and familiarity with contemporary digital communications processes and tools, this position requires initiative, attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with clients.

A successful candidate will possess an appetite for engaging and collaborating with multidisciplinary team members who have different experiences, skills, and ways of working. The Technical Writer may be assigned to work on projects that are new or in-progress, alone or in groups, and with quick turnaround or lengthy timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Take direction from the Marketing Specialist to produce high-quality, original, creative print and digital communication pieces

  • Produce press releases on a regular basis and work directly with media outlets at a national and local level to produce positive news stories for both digital and print

  • Coordinate and product client communications and reports

  • Execute multiple projects at once and meet scheduled deadline

Position Summary:

  • Understand and execute clients' branding guidelines

  • A Bachelor’s degree in writing, communications, digital content and media, technical communications, or software technology required

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills; must be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences at all organizational levels

Prior experience working with or for food service or a university is preferred. Candidates will be asked to provide examples of technical documentation they’ve written. To ensure that essential services are provided to the University community, the employee may be required to work outside regular working hours as needed.

  • Supports program awareness through a physical presence at site

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
