Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Food Service Manager 3 to support our University account at Minot State University in Minot, ND - located in the North Central area of the state approximately 100 miles north of Bismarck, ND. We have been partners with Minot State since 2010 and participated in an extensive renovation for the resident dining area. Minot State offers a Resident Dining program that serves 1500 meals daily, a Retail Food Court with 3 concepts, Starbucks Proudly Brew, C-Store and Catering. Annual volume is approximately $2.0 million annually. This position will manage a staff of 25 hourly associates.

  • Experience in a high-volume student Resident Dining operation with board plans.

  • Food Retail experience (QSR) is a plus.

  • Passion and commitment to providing a welcoming dining experience to our students and leading a team focused on high level of customer satisfaction.

  • A strong background in excellent operational performance, leading a team to greatness as well as strong client communication and relationship skills.

  • Understanding of campus resident dining and how to market towards special meal plans, voluntary meal plans and utilize social media in sharing such with student population.

Position Summary

Provides supervision for multi-functional food service areas at an account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company. Contributes to account revenue and operating profit through the implementation of Sodexo programs while executing against Standard Operating Procedures.

Key Duties

  • Maintains and develops client relationships and customer satisfaction for multi-functional food service areas to ensure account retention and positive public relations

  • Establishes and maintains a safe work environment

  • Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards

  • Utilizes Sodexo resources and programs to ensure operating standards and regulatory requirements are met and employees have the necessary equipment and inventory

  • Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate in order drive a high-level of employee engagement

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
