Job Overview:

The Unit Clerk will complete the clerical tasks assigned by the supervisor in accordance with corporate guidelines. Provide accurate, friendly, quality service to customers/clients when processing customer/client transactions. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the position. /General Responsibilities:/

  • Performs routine and varied clerical duties in accordance with standard procedures.

  • Performs activities such as photocopying, compiling records, filing, tabulating, posting information and scheduling appointments.

  • Writes types or enters information into computer to prepare correspondence.

  • Prepares issues and sends out receipts, bills, policies, invoices, statements and checks.

  • Maintains records, prepares forms, verifies information and resolves routine problems.

  • Operates various office machines.

  • Opens and routes incoming mail, answers correspondence and prepares outgoing mail.

  • Answers telephone, conveys messages and runs errands.

  • May receive, count and deposit cash, as needed.

  • May include human resources functions (including benefit administration, personnel action forms and payroll processing) for the unit as well as the district and region.

  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.

  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.

  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.

  • Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.

/Working Conditions (may add additional conditions specific to defined work location):/

  • Generally in an indoor setting; however, may supervise outside activities and events.

  • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as business dictates.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to heat/cold during support of outside activities.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Position Type: Part Time/Full time based on growth

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Santa Rosa County Team Nutrition Grant funded program by USDA to help youth acquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes and changed behavior necessary to improve diets in normal nutrition.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Essential functions are fundamental job duties. They do not include marginal tasks which are also preformed but are incidental to the primary functions.   • Follows work schedule as assigned by Supervisor;

  • Program Delivery – Teaches nutrition education classes to participants at various school sites.

  • Evaluates knowledge gained and behavioral changes through approved evaluation tools.

  • Planning- Plans and prepares nutrition education lessons. Continues to improve knowledge of subject matter and teaching methods.

  • Travel- Stays within assigned travel allocation and teaching sites from the official headquarters.

  • Reporting – Maintains accurate records and reports.

  • Measurement- administers pre and post exams to nutrition education participants.

  • Working Relationships- ability to work with foodservice office administration, cafeteria administration, principals, teachers and school staff as well as cooperate with other community partnership personnel.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work in classroom, work in kitchen with recipes related to taste testing and food demonstrations, travel required.


  • Graduation from high school or GED High school graduate or equivalent

  • Knowledge of nutrition, dietetics and/or health and wellness

  • Ability to organize work and to work productively with indirect supervision in a highly visible public sector environment

  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, form and effectively maintain working relationships with persons or associations from cultures other than one s own

  • Ability to teach and communicate ideas effectively verbally, in writing and through educational technology to youth and adults in large groups

  • Ability to gain knowledge of food service regulations and practices, read recipes, operate kitchen equipment.

  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills in a team setting; ability to effectively manage conflicts


  • Degree and/or Experience in dietetics, nutritional sciences, family/consumer sciences, social work, education or related field

  • Volunteer or work experience related to food and nutrition education

  • Group leadership and/or informal teaching experience

  • Knowledge of and demonstrative ability to work cooperatively with other agencies and other community-based services and organizations

  • Residence in geographic area served
