Sodexo is seeking a General Manager 5 – Food Operations & Clinical Nutrition for Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital located in Lexington, KY. This is a 180-bed rehabilitation facility, serving Kentucky and the greater Lexington and Frankfort areas. Cardinal Hill is a leading provider of rehabilitation after stroke, spinal cord injury and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.

We are seeking a General Manager that has experience as a Registered Dietitian or Certified Dietary Manager.

Reporting to the Client Executive, the General Manager 5 will direct the day to day operations of all food and nutrition services, including patient feeding, cafeteria/retail, food production, and catering. The account will have an Executive Chef 2, a Food Operations Manager, a Clinical Nutrition Manager, three Registered Dietitians, and approximately 40 client employees.

Sodexo provides best in class services for patient dinning, retail café operations, onsite catering, and physicians dinning at this outstanding account. Critical to your success is the ability to integrate fully within our client's organization becoming a trusted advisor and member of the account’s leadership team.

The ideal candidate will be a customer focused, innovative leader with exceptional financial acumen as well as demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and meet financial objectives. Candidates for this General Manager 5 position should have prior experience managing a food and nutrition department and a solid record of achieving best in class customer satisfaction scores.

The successful candidate will:

  • manage the food operations and the clinical nutrition management program within a hospital or a facility;

  • lead a team of food service management professionals, as well as entry level and experienced dietitians;

  • advocate to expand and promote the role of Clinical Nutrition throughout the facility;

  • collaborate with the implementation and management of Sodexo’s room service program and menu management system;

  • drive Performance Improvement and Quality Management projects;

  • provide nutrition care to a variety of patient units as needed.

  • have a background as a Registered Dietitian or Certified Dietary Manager

  • have a strong P&L and/or fee account background;

  • have experience managing multiple business segments;

  • can direct other leaders in a high-volume business;

  • can develop exceptional client relations and ensure the facility’s product offerings/solutions align with client needs;

  • drive solutions that optimize the current business portfolio;

  • play a key role and enthusiastically supports the succession planning and development of key personnel within area of responsibility;

  • lead and motivate the management team, inspiring strategic direction; secure and/or deploy resources; cultivate relationships with clients and other teams within Sodexo; ensure the fulfillment of all contract commitments; sustain client satisfaction and retention; and maintain strong employee relations.

Position Summary

Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.

Provides local leadership and strategic direction while developing team for new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in the day to day operations.
