Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a Retail Manager 3 to join our food service team at Memorial Hermann TMC hospital in Houston,Texas.

This account has a fast paced, high volume food service department, generating over $10m in Retail sales annually, and focused on achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction. In this role, you will be directing and managing the daily operations for their full-service Cafe, Starbucks & Micros Market.

Responsibilities will include: cash handling/management, achieving department budget targets, marketing/signage, scheduling, inventory/ordering, training and development of staff, direct customer interaction, and supervision of up to 50 employees and Supervisors. Also, you will be responsible for oversite of other areas of operations. Hours for the position vary with rotating weekends as well as some holidays.

The successful candidate will possess at least 3 years food management experience with a focus on retail operations, a solid understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines, computer literacy as well as excellent leadership, communication and customer service skills.

Position Summary

Responsible for food quality & customer service in an operation that may have branded concepts or other retail offerings. Directs the work of hourly and supervisory food service workers, as well as other managers.

Key Duties

  • Ensures there is a zero harm mindset for ourselves, our customers, our food & employees.

  • Directs daily operations of food quality & customer service in a retail food operation that may include branded concepts ensuring that employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources.

  • Manages cash handling protocols & control procedures according to Sodexo policies.

  • Maintains client satisfaction for food quality & customer service.

  • Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery.

  • Supervises day-to-day work activities of food service workers, supervisors & managers.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience – 1 year of work experience in concessions, retail sales, or store operations
