Unit Description

Sodexo Leisure has an exciting opportunity for an Executive Chef 3 to lead our culinary operations at and in Houston, TX . This Executive Chef will manage two locations with multiple types of dining locations. The Executive Chef will be supported by a Chef Manager and Culinary Team. This Executive Chef will have full culinary responsibility for the retail food outlets & catering services provided by Sodexo at these visitor venues. Sodexo prides itself on cutting edge menus and beautifully crafted events.

The ability to create artisan products in a scratch cooking environment is a must.

We require that you demonstrate experience creating, costing, training and executing specialty menus for catered events in a highly competitive marketplace with high culinary expectations.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive culinary experience with very high end retail and catering

  • Creative menu development with focus on variety and new food trends

  • Experience with food and labor management systems

  • A solid background with training and leading a culinary staff, focusing on food safety

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a large sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.

Key Duties

  • Implements & coordinates the culinary function.

  • Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.

  • Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.

  • Manages catering & retail areas.

  • Customer & Client satisfaction.

  • Financial management to include food cost & labor management.

  • Manages food & physical safety programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree

Basic Management Experience - 3 years

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
