We have an opening for an experienced Executive Chef for a very busy campus Resident Dining and Catering program. This individual will lead a dedicated work force in providing high quality and diverse services on a very busy campus. Responsibilities will include: Food production, inventory, training and development of team, performance monitoring, safety / sanitation, trouble shooting, cost controls, labor management, and active participation in improving our delivery through customer service.

The Executive Chef will be responsible for all culinary operations and the ideal candidate will be an energetic, polished Culinary Professional. Seeking candidates with a proven track record for developing, leading and engaging culinary teams.

  • previous experience working in a high-volume facility; and

  • strong management skills – trainer and mentor, developing staff’s skills and ensuring safety.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.

Key Duties

  • Implements & coordinates the culinary function.

  • Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.

  • Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.

  • Manages catering & retail areas.

  • Customer & Client satisfaction.

  • Financial management to include food cost & labor management.

  • Manages food & physical safety programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
