Sodexo is seeking a General Manager to lead the food team at Munson Otsego Memorial Hospital , a new sale in Gaylord, MI with 56 acute care and 35 long term care beds . Located in northern Michigan, Gaylord isknown as the Alpine Village with a Swiss-themed shopping district, over 90 inland lakes and seemingly endless miles of outstanding hiking and biking trails !
In this highly visible General Manager role, you will direct and participate in the daily food operations for At Your Request (AYR) patient meal service and a retail cafe. Responsibilities will include: overseeing food-service operations, working with unit financial, direct customer interaction and management of approximately16 front-line staff. This position will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction.
Additional responsibilities include:
Managing all food-service operations including patient meal service, cafeteria/retail and catering services.
Integrating fully within our client's organization becoming a trusted adviser and member of the accounts leadership team
Working to achieve company and client financial targets and goals.
Achieving high quality resident and client satisfaction scores
Responsible for collaborating with the client on achieving annual operational projects and goals.
Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
Meeting (or exceeding) Sodexo standards of operations
Creates a positive environment and successfully motivates and manages team.
The ideal candidate has:
A food service background with experience in healthcare environment is preferred
Excellent hospitality, leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards
Strong management skills
A strong working knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account
Provides local leadership and strategic direction while developing team for new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in the day to day operations.

Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree
