Sodexo Inc. Senior Benefits Administrator in GAITHERSBURG, Maryland

Unit Description

Sodexo has an exciting Senior Benefits Administrator position now available with our Corporate HR team in Gaithersburg, MD. This position will assist in the administration of Sodexo’s supplemental benefits programs, with primary responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the standard paid time off programs.

The Senior Benefits Administrator will:

  • Handle the day-to-day administration of the standard paid time off programs

  • Respond to e-mails from HR professionals, HR Communications team, employees, and other Sodexo departments. Research issues and provide information and resource materials. Report issues to vendors as needed. Work with vendor to resolve issues and correct employee records.

  • Correct paid time off balances when there are errors/issues, research system issues, attend calls with vendor and represent needs/requirements of paid time off plans

  • Interact with benefit program vendors, as needed, to maintain high level of service

  • Ensure that necessary documents and plan summaries are current, and complete any required legal filings

  • Update documentation of departmental process, procedures and reference information as needed

  • Draft communications as needed to notify HR and employees of issues or policy changes

  • Handle incoming callsand emailsfrom employees and resolve benefit-related questions

  • Work on special projects and analysis of benefit programs, either self-initiated or directed, in support of departmental goals

  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager

The ideal preferred candidate will have the following background/skillset:

  • 3-5 years of benefits program administration related experience

  • Bachelors degree (preferred) in a related field

  • Strong experience in data analytics and spreadsheet management

  • Strong working knowledge of regulatory laws that affect benefits (ERISA, COBRA, USERRA, HIPAA, FMLA , ACA)

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Knowledge of payroll systems (ADP)and timekeeping systems (Kronos)

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills; able to work and solve problems independently

  • Experience working within a collaborative environment

  • Strong attention to detail; able to work under pressure and meet critical processing deadlines

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Able to handle confidential information

Position Summary

Responsible for various functions related to benefit programs. This may include benefit planning process, day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs, vendor selection and performance, administering leave plans, and vesting dates. Responds to escalated Customer Service concerns. Benchmarks Sodexo benefits against the marketplace. Performs cost/benefit analysis of current and proposed plans and makes recommendations for plan modifications. Coordinates program implementations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years of Benefits, Health & Welfare, or Retirement experience
