Sodexo Operations LLC Learning Support Specialist in GAITHERSBURG, Maryland

Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a Learning Support Specialist position within Learning & Performance Group. The preferred candidate will be able to work from the Gaithersburg, MD or Allentown, PA office.

The Learning Support Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Handle event planning logistics for on-site Learning and Performance training events including vendor negotiations, vendor reservations, banquet event orders and audio visual requirements.

  • Supporting internal Learning and Performance programs as well as our business partners in functional areas such as Finance, HR, Payroll, Safety, etc.

  • Supporting a central registration process which may include course enrollment/registration, tracking, escalation, reporting, etc.

  • Manage Learning Program System Administration (LMS Administration via Cornerstone On Demand internally named Ingenium including session creation/maintenance, proxy registrations, management of system locations, reporting etc.)

  • Serving as an escalation point for end-user questions received from help desks and managing department mailboxes. Providing ongoing customer support, communications, information, and assistance.

  • Fulfillment of class materials and coordinating shipping needs, making sure all materials have been pulled, packed and delivered to course on time.

  • Supporting new Learning Initiatives and management of ongoing Projects including Training Site Securing, Food Safety Training Enhancements and new training roll outs.

  • Other duties such as developing communications, documentation of processes and procedures, managing customer support, and recommending process improvements.

The preferred candidate will have the following background/ skill set:

  • 3 years of experience in event planning, operations or logistics.

  • Experience using a Learning Management System or other HR systems

  • Strong experience using Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle high volume in short timelines

  • Experience with reporting and analytics

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Strong customer service skills; strong written, verbal communications and interpersonal skills

  • High School Diploma or GED (required), Associates/Bachelors (preferred)

  • Ability to prioritize and work independently

  • Strong attention to detail

Position Summary

The Learning Support Specialist will be responsible for event planning logistics, centralized learning registration, materials fulfillment (packing and shipping), and customer support. System administration is a responsibility of this role requiring data entry skills, technical savvy and analytic capabilities.
