Sodexo is currently seeking a General Manager 4 to lead our team at Fort Riley Army Hospital. The food service General Manager 4 will be responsible for directing all food service operations in a high compliance environment; including, training, team building, scheduling and purchasing at this highly structured, high profile account. This position will be managing Sodexo employees.

In Government Services contract compliance is critical with safety and customer service a high priority as extensive audits and surveys are conducted at each unit on weekly basis.

The candidate will have a work history demonstrating strong leadership skills in a food service environment. 3 years previous Health Care Food Service experience is required . Ideally, candidates will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively, in a fast paced, highly regimented environment.

General Manager Responsibilities include:

  • Integrate fully within the unit becoming a trusted advisor with a customer service focus

  • Works to achieve company and client financial targets and goals

  • Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards

  • Must meet (or exceed) Sodexo and Marine Corp standards of operations

  • Creates a positive environment and successfully motivates and manages team.

  • Have oversight of day-to day operations

  • Strong contract management/compliance experience

  • Achieve company financial targets and goals

  • Develop and maintain client and customer relations

  • Develop strategic plans

  • Create a positive and enjoyable environment

The ideal candidate has:

  • Military Hospital dining facility with direct client involvement, patient care and retail sales

  • NRA-ServSafe Food Service Manager Certified

  • Knowledge of HACCP procedures/flow

  • Hands on culinary experience or food production experience

  • Works closely with client in a military hospital environment

  • Must pass Sodexo and Department Of Defense background check (Contract Required)

  • Work history demonstrating strong leadership skills.

  • Previous management experience in high volume production operations.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Professional communication skills

  • A passion for a high level of customer service

  • Proficient computer skills and report management experience

  • Strong financial acumen

  • Knowledgeable in compliance to food safety, sanitation and overall workplace safety standards.

  • Can demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed

Position Summary

Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.

Provides local leadership and strategic direction while developing team for new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in the day to day operations.
