Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a strong, dynamic Environmental Services/Custodial Manager 2 for healthcare at Tenet Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, Michigan. Children's is a teaching pediatric hospital. This is a union environment with 132 FTE's, with 1.2 million square feet supporting day shift. The successful candidate will need to be flexible to work every other weekend and other shifts as the business dictates. The candidate should possess knowledge of handling large facility and be able to multi-task. Good communication skills are a must. Manager should also have knowledge of regulatory rules and compliance as in Joint Commission, CMS, etc. Union experience is preferred.

Prior supervisory experience in healthcare setting or equivalent such has hospitality, hotels housekeeping, or commercial custodial management support is ideal. We are in search of a self-motivated leader with the desire to deliver outstanding results for the organization. The ability to motivate and inspire staff to exceed expectations is a desired characteristic for this manager. Must be able to drive HCAHPS results to a high level and understand ENGAGE patient satisfaction process. Overall, will need to motivate hourly staff and maintain cleaning quality to a very high level. Driving client engagement and patient/employee satisfaction is essential for the success of this role.

Position Summary

Provides management oversight for Environmental Services non-exempt level staff (client and/or Sodexo employees) in the delivery of Sodexo Environmental Service Programs. Ensures Sodexo Operating Standards for Environmental Service are in place as required to consistently meet all company, client, and regulatory requirements. Responsible for non-exempt work force planning through effective scheduling, development of daily work flow assignments, training and development, and monitoring for compliance to the plan.

Key Duties

-Establishes a safe work environment for clients, customers and staff by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with Sodexho safety and loss prevention programs and by providing safety-related training and equipment inventory maintenance.

-Provide leadership and direction to non-exempt employees

-Coordinate/conduct employee training

-Administer Human Resource processes (hiring, performance reviews, constructive counseling, prepare work schedules, payroll, etc.)

-Interact with outside vendors

-Ensure Sodexo Operating Standards for Environmental Service are in place and consistently met.

-Develop/implement action plans for improvement in compliance with Sodexo Operating Standards as identified.

-Reviews and maintains assigned areas of the Sodexo/Client budget commitments
