Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 2 to lead all food production for a busy Retail Cafeteria and Catering at Doctors Regional Medical Center in Corpus Christi, TX .

Doctors Regional Medical Center is an acute care 170 bed hospital with retail café and At Your Request patient dining. The Executive Chef will oversee Sodexo union hourly staff for front and back of the house.

The ideal candidate must have culinary flair, the ability to train, develop team and management experience. The Executive Chef will report to the General Manager and will have daily interaction with the client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute quality service by maintaining the highest level of delivery.

  • Develop and maintain client relationships and client satisfaction for all aspects of food production to include catering, a retail cafeteria and "At Your Request" room service program.

  • Focus on labor productivity & patient satisfaction

  • Contribute to account revenue and the operating profit contribution

Exciting retail area capital improvements are planned for upcoming fiscal year. This will create an great opportunity to drive sales in a newly remodeled facility.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.

Key Duties

  • Implements & coordinates the culinary function.

  • Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.

  • Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.

  • Manages catering & retail areas.

  • Customer & Client satisfaction.

  • Financial management to include food cost & labor management.

  • Manages food & physical safety programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
