Sodexo Inc. Food Operations Manager 3 in COLUMBIA, South Carolina
Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 3 to join our Food Services Team at Palmetto Health Richland (Prisma Health) located in Columbia, South Carolina.
Prisma(Palmetto) Health Richland is a 650 bed teaching hospital. The Operations Manager will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Food Services Department that averages 6000 meals a day. The selected candidate will manage two Sodexo Managers and 75 client employees. This BLUE CHIP Sodexo account is seeking a candidate with Retail and Patient Services experience, knowledge of proper cash handling procedures, experience with FMS, SMG, Retail and AYR Gold Checks, NRM, Cost and Pricing Model.
The preferred candidate for this position will have strong leadership and communication skills, proven client relationship skills and successful customer service skills. This Operations Manager will need to manage through managers as well as lead, develop and engage a team of front-line staff of to deliver high-quality results.
Must be able to deliver cafe LTO'S and all "In Season" promotions and communications to grow customer base and enhance sales volumes. Patient and Employee satisfaction is a must.
Additional Job Responsibilities include:
Food cost and inventory controls
Responsible for identifying process improvement initiatives and overseeing implementation.
Ensures that employees demonstrate an active customer hospitality orientation toward patients, visitors and hospital staff
Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation and overall workplace safety standards.
Meets (or exceeds) Sodexo standards of operation
Creates a positive environment and successfully motivates and manages team.
The Operations manager will be in charge in absence of the General Manager.

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.
Establishes a safe work environment
Assumes General Manager’s (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence
Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships, to ensure account retention
Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes
Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met
Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan
Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and regulatory agencies
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree
Basic Management Experience - 3 years
Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
