Description/Job Summary

Job Overview:

The Sr. Vending Technician is responsible for installation, set-up, repair and ongoing maintenance of vending, cooling and/or fountain equipment at customer accounts. Diagnoses equipment problems, uses judgment to determine how to best repair or replace. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

/General Responsibilities:/

  • Collects, counts money and keeps accurate records of all cash per Sodexo policy and procedures.

  • Loads and unloads trucks with supplies according to written or verbal instructions, or supervises other vending personnel doing these tasks.

  • Conducts inventory maintenance.

  • Requisitions and takes receipt of supplies, recording controls.

  • May prepare foods for machines.

  • Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.

  • Complies with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.

  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.

  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.

  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.

  • Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.

  • Serves as lead Vending Technician, refilling sometimes complex vending machines and cleaning machines at larger accounts and/or covering a larger territory.

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

  • 1 year experience in hospital or extended care facility.

/Working Conditions (may add additional conditions specific to defined work location):/

  • Generally in an indoor setting; however, may supervise outside activities and events.

  • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as business dictates.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to heat/cold during support of outside activities.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Vending Technician/Driver

Works under direct supervision and follows standard procedures and written/verbal instructions to accomplish assigned tasks. Performs daily vending related duties necessary to meet deadlines and customer needs. Refills vending machines and cleans machines. Collects, counts money and keeps accurate records of all cash per Sodexo policy and procedures. Loads and unloads trucks with supplies according to written or verbal instructions, or supervises other vending personnel doing these tasks. Conducts inventory maintenance. Requisitions and takes receipt of supplies, recording controls. May prepare foods for machines. Will drive a truck over established routes (a valid State of Ohio driver's license is required).

Follow key policies, including checking out and returning keys to appropriate areas. Prepare items for vending machine. Monitor the rate at which products are selling, and adjust the mix accordingly to maximize sales. Refill vending machines and replace date expired food items. Clean vending machines. Collect and count money from machines. Test and inspect vending machines to determine proper functioning or causes of malfunctions. Follow all company policies and procedures (e.g., safety and security); ensure uniform/dress code and personal appearance are clean and professional; support workplace diversity initiatives. Follow proper food handling procedures. Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions. Report work related accidents. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of others. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Ensure all cleaning and maintenance standards are adhered to; assure proper inventory levels.

May work varying schedule to include mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as business dictates.
