Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a Patient Services Manager to join our team at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center located on the near south side of Chicago . This position will have a significant impact on patient satisfaction by managing a room-service style food production and delivery operation. The meals served per meal period range from 150 to 180.

The ideal Patient Services Manager candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in patient meal services

  • Passion for delivering high quality food

  • Experience managing a union workforce

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Result oriented management

  • Practical PC experience with Microsoft Office, labor management software, and food management software

  • Working knowledge of specialized patient diets

  • Flexibility with covering and/or expanding into other aspects of the operation as required

  • Experience effectively engaging employees in our mission

Position Summary

Provides direction for patient meal services at patient care units to ensure customer satisfaction and retention for the Company.

Key Duties

  • Directs daily operations of patient meal services at patient care units to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines.

  • Supervises day-today work activities by delegating authority, assigning, scheduling, and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards.

  • Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to employees.

  • Performs audits and prepares reports

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
