Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking an Food and Nutrition Senior Area General Manager for a healthcare account in Athens, Georgia . The Sr Area GM will be responsible for oversight of all Food and Nutrition Services at four facilities - 1 long term care facility and 3 acute care hospitals. Responsible for all aspects of the account including patient services, retail, doctors dinning, production, sanitation, customer service and financial performance. This position reports directly to the Sodexo District Manager and will lead a team of approximately 8 managers between all sites. Must have proven experience in implementing and managing systems, processes and lead change within an Food Service Healthcare environment. Candidate must have a proven track record of driving patient satisfaction scores and successfully implementing significant operational changes.

The selected candidate must be passionate about providing an excellent patient experience, quality food for staff and guests while driving outcomes and strategies identified by the client. Must have strong leadership and proven management skills as this position requires a take charge, hands-on individual that is easily able to lead, develop, train and transition employees. Must have very strong financial and budget responsibility experience. Solid knowledge of Sodexo Food and Nutrition Systems and processes including driving patient satisfaction scores, FOSS, CARES, FMS, Market Connection, Gold Checks, At Your Request meal program. The ideal candidate would have both healthcare and long term care Food and Nutrition experience and have experience overseeing multiple sites.

Position Summary

Functions as the in-unit leader for multiple accounts and/or contracts within a defined geography. Single point of contact and/or client liaison in support of a multi-site.

Key Duties

  • Monitors operations by planned and unplanned visits to each operating account of the system to plan projects, implement new processes, client interactions, and new technology to ensure sufficient resources.

  • Develops business plan and budget w/each account GM that supports the System and District goals – Reviews and analyzes financial statements and data and other financial information to ensure attainment of financial goals for both the client and Sodexo.

  • Central Point of Contact for Client Liaison promoting a solid business partnership - assists in contract negotiations for the system.

  • Maintains Quality & Company Standards – reviews and maintains reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Sodexo / System Client(s) policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for system succession planning/employee development/diversity initiatives/training/constructive counseling. Promotes and supports workplace diversity initiatives.

  • Provides strategic leadership to the respective units within the system to maintain client satisfaction and retention

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’sDegree

Basic Management Experience - 5 years

Basic Functional Experience - 5 years work experience in facilities (e.g., maintenance, plant operations, engineering services, grounds, custodial/environmental, or transportation) or food (e.g., food services or operations, concessions, retail sales, store operations, or vending) services
