Sodexo Government has an exciting opportunity for potential sale of a prestigious food service account located in the northern Virginia area. This account generates approximately $20 million annually in revenue. The Senior Mananger, Area General will be responsible for maintaining an excellent client relationship and ensuring high customer service standards.
The Senior Manager, Area General will have full oversight of a 15-unit operation while managing managers and frontline unionized employees. This operation is Monday thru Friday, 52 weeks per year and closed on all Federal holidays. The Senior Manager, Area General may work in any type of food location on client premises. This opportunity is for the oversight of exclusive feeding of VIP personnel as well several cafes and retail operations . This individual would provide operational oversight at the direction of the District Manager 2. and will provide support to management in the daily oversight of key functions and employees during the normal course of business.
Security clearance will be required, which will include a polygraph interview . US citizenship is required.
Theideal candidate will have knowledge and hands-on experience in the following areas:
Experience in all aspects of restaurant or cafeteria operations, Customer Service, Cash handling, HR responsibilities, Financial Reporting, Marketing and promotions.
Must have detailed experience and knowledge of the culinary process. To include inventory control, ordering, recipe compliance HACCP and the ability of ensuring food quality at the highest level. Must also be able to forecast sales and maintain the production process.
This position requires an individual with a high level of financial acumen. Must understand food cost, labor controls, middle of the page expenses with an expert level of P & L knowledge.
Ability to manage standards/systems in a café / retail operation. The ability to hold employees accountable and the ability to create an engaged productive work force.
Previous Retail operations experience and a passion for providing quality food options to enhance and elevate the dining experience.
Functions as the in-unit leader for multiple accounts and/or contracts within a defined geography. Single point of contact and/or client liaison in support of a multi-site.
Monitors operations by planned and unplanned visits to each operating account of the system to plan projects, implement new processes, client interactions, and new technology to ensure sufficient resources.
Develops business plan and budget w/each account GM that supports the System and District goals – Reviews and analyzes financial statements and data and other financial information to ensure attainment of financial goals for both the client and Sodexo.
Central Point of Contact for Client Liaison promoting a solid business partnership - assists in contract negotiations for the system.
Maintains Quality & Company Standards – reviews and maintains reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Sodexo / System Client(s) policies and procedures.
Responsible for system succession planning/employee development/diversity initiatives/training/constructive counseling. Promotes and supports workplace diversity initiatives.
Provides strategic leadership to the respective units within the system to maintain client satisfaction and retention
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’sDegree
Basic Management Experience - 5 years
Basic Functional Experience - 5 years work experience in facilities (e.g., maintenance, plant operations, engineering services, grounds, custodial/environmental, or transportation) or food (e.g., food services or operations, concessions, retail sales, store operations, or vending) services
