Unit Description

Sodexo Corporate Services has an exciting opportunity for a Construction/Project Manager, supporting a client in Washington, DC. The successful candidate will possess strong technical background in construction and project management; in addition to exceptional verbal and written communication. The Project Manager will be an active member of HQ1 team. This manager must have a successful background in managing a portfolio of projects including renovations and new construction.

Technical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction in all areas to ensure account retention.

  • Fulfills contractual obligations to the client.

  • Oversees expenditures to control project costs.

  • Plans projects, including defining objectives, scope, specifications, methods, timetables, staffing, scheduling, contract requirements and budget.

  • Evaluates, identifies and implements new ideas, technologies or process improvements to increase organizational efficiencies and cost savings.

  • Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining highest level of delivery.

  • Promotes and supports workplace diversity initiatives.

  • Provides technical direction and ensuring compliance

Ideal candidate will have experience with the following:

  • Construction/project planning

  • Ability to read drawings

  • Project and time-line scheduling

  • RFPs, and vendor selection/contract negotiation

  • Developing scope of work and business cases

  • Permitting process and change requests

  • Billing

Position Summary

Plans, directs and coordinates activities of designated capital projects. Reviews project proposal, establishes work plan and manages contractors to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations or engineering services
