Sodexo is seeking a talented, passionate and experienced Executive Chef 2 for our campus dining operations at the University of Tampa located in sunny Tampa, FL ! The Executive Chef will cultivate and grow the client relationships and encourage culinary staff development. The Chef will develop seasonal menus and food concepts and will implement and manage unit-specific sustainability goals and programs.

The Executive Chef will have partial financial responsibilities, HACCP/Sanitation responsibilities, as well as responsibility for food/labor cost controls. Customer service and client relations/satisfaction are top priorities. Chef will have a hands-on presence during all meal services. #ACF2017

Ideal candidate will have:

  • College/University/Stadium/Arena culinary experience;

  • Culinary degree;

  • Strong culinary background with experience in campus dining and high volume venues;

  • Emphasis on food presentation, quality, execution, menu design & implementation;

  • Focus on customer service excellence;

  • Demonstrated experience providing strong leadership, including supervision, direction and training, to a diverse team of employees;

  • Focus on food and physical safety and sanitation;

  • Experience managing food and labor cost controls to meet targets;

  • High level of computer literacy and skill-set;

  • Strong understanding of financials and strong analytical thinking skills;

  • Great client relations and a desire to be invested in the local campus/community.

Position Summary

Designs, supervises, coordinates and participates in activities of cooks and other kitchen personnel in a medium to large account. This position is recognized as the technical expert, teacher and trainer for other chefs and cooks within the account. Selects and develops recipes and other items for clients. Develops menu, implements and trains HACCP, oversees/purchases food, establishes production levels and inventory controls, interviews and hires new chefs, manages/controls food cost issues and offer solutions, may train other chefs outside account. May cook selected items, and plan or price menus. Typically has chefs and cooks reporting to this position.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
