Job #65100 - Sodexo is seeking an entry level Marketing / Catering Manager (II) for The Oaks at Menorah Park in Syracuse, NY. This location is part of theJewish Home of Central New York; a Continuing Care Retirement Community.

Position reports to the Director of Dining at this location and provides; staff training, supervision and support, motivating employees to continually improve performance and results. You will also manage all dining events with enthusiasm; providing hands-on guidance during resident and client functions in order to produce outstanding dining experiences. In addition, you will manage the Bistro / Sports Bar and provide daily support with cash handling, staff training and supervision. Strong communication skills are critical to your success in this position along with infectious drive and enthusiasm , attention to detail, and innovative food presentation skills!
Ideal Candidate Skills, Certification:
Some College / Trade School, Servsafe Certified
Catering, Marketing, and Sales familiarity
Experience with team building and training; 10 employees
Background; coordinate, schedule, set-up of catered events
Ability to assist with menu selections room set up diagrams
Skilled with upscale catering, food production, quality standards
Capability to serve as a liaison with client & departments heads
Working knowledge of HACCP andweb based programs
The ability to prioritize multiple & at times, competing priorities
Exp; healthcare / retirement community / country club / fine dining is ideal!

Oversight of catering activities for a small to mid-size location/unit with $500k-$1M in managed catering volume. Medium complexity with a high degree of hands on involvement in catering events. Strong client interaction.
Oversight of Sodexo resources, recipes, systems and use of catering programs to direct daily catering events including; food production, inventory, product deliveries, invoices, and procurement operations.
Oversight of the sales process for catering and/or conference service events. Works with client and customers to design events.
Ensures employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources to perform their job, and meet goals, cost controls and deadlines as assigned.
Establishes and maintains a safe work environment including both food and physical safety in order to comply with all regulatory and Sodexo standards in various environments. Drives the Zero Harm mindset.
Complies with budget requirements by controlling costs (i.e. labor, inventory, equipment, materials) and making adjustments when necessary
Supervises employees by delegating, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
