Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Executive Chef 1 at Thornton Township High School District 205 located in South Holland, IL Just outside the Chicago City limits. THSD 205 is a public school system with 3 campuses. Sodexo food service operations are five days a week (M-F) serving breakfast and lunch with upscale catering and occasional evening & weekend catering.

The ideal candidate will be innovative with a passion for team development, creating menus with farm to table in mind, able to follow through while managing multiple priorities and the ability to foster strong client and customer relationships. A focus on providing students, faculty and staff with consistent exceptional customer service is a must!

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a small sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.In this role, you will be responsible for training and development of the union staff as well as lead supervisors. You will participate in student group committees that support dining and basic interactive cooking classes with students

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
