Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Resident Dining Operations Manager 2 for California State University – Monterey Bay campus in Seaside, CA, a multi-unit dynamic reference account near San Jose . The Operations Manager will oversee all operations – Front and Back of the House for the Resident Dining operation of this $8M+ account - with over 1400 students on meal plans, serving over 8,000 meals weekly. The Operations Manager will oversee 75 FT union employees and student employees; with primary focus on financial performance, client retention, policy compliance and employee training and development.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a Supervisory role in Student Resident Dining or high volume food operations background and managing/developing teams.

Qualifications include:

  • Experience with campus dining programs including resident dining (declining balance as well as traditional) board plans. Effective increasing student involvement through student events, theme nights, etc.

  • Strong team development, a Hands On Manager with commitment to train/develop and mentor their team!

  • Well developed client relations skills.

  • Implementation of progressive Sustainability initiatives for FOH and BOH and demonstrated understanding and commitment with Sustainability.

  • Strong financial understanding – Food and Labor Costs/Controls.

Position Summary

Manages all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and directly supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 4 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
