As Director of Catering for the Nebraska Medical Center, you'll lead the operations for one of our largest catering volumes across Sodexo. This is a high profile position with accountability for numerous upscale events throughout the year. You will report to the Sr. General Manager of this large blue chip hospital that is also associated with a world class medical university.
You will be supported by an experienced staff as well as a highly skilled management team that is in place to guide and support your career growth with Sodexo.
Your success will be measured by your ability to:
* Increase catering sales to customers outside of the medical complex
* Implement training program improves the time it takes for a new hire to reach full performance
* Improve the planning process in preparation of events resulting in higher customer satisfaction
The ideal candidate has experience managing high volume caterings either in the conference or hotel industries. The candidate has worked with upscale clients and has a track record in increasing catering sales by utilizing innovative approaches. The Catering Manager will also be expected to drive a delivery van/truck on ocasssion for big offsite events.
Position Summary:
Manages all catered events. Hires, schedules, and trains catering staff. Works with clients/customers to arrange and follow through on all catering details and to ensure all special requests are met. Directs setup for events. Responsible for pricing, billing and resolving customer complaints. Develops menu/costing.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
