Sodexo has an exciting career opportunity for a Retail Manager at our new Retail Cafe and Starbucks at Olathe Medical Center located in Olathe, Kansas. This position will lead the Retail Cafe, Starbucks We Proudly Brew, and Catering programs. Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, ability to train and lead daily are required.

Knowledge of food safety, cash handling experience and solid computer skills will be necessary in this role. Knowledge of Sodexo programs, systems and processes is beneficial, but not required.

This position will lead the Retail Cafe, Starbucks We Proudly Brew, and Catering programs.

The retail manager will have many responsibilities including, sales building, recruiting, staffing, training, food safety, sanitation, cash handling, purchasing, and customer relations. Shifts will be morning, and some evenings, and they will work on a rotating weekend schedule with other members of the management team. Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, ability to train and lead daily are required.Knowledge of food safety, cash handling experience and solid computer skills will be necessary in this role. Knowledge of Sodexo programs, systems and processes is beneficial, but not required.

Ideal candidate will be able to :

  • Multi-task, and be a creative member of the team .

  • Will have financial responsibility as well as supervising the staff.

  • This position requires a high level of computer experience in food management programs, POS programs and working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.

  • The candidate must have great communication skills and the ability to train and mentor employees.

Reporting to the General Manager the Retail Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the retail program and have additional operational responsibilities as well. Coupled with prior management level experience in a hospital environment, our ideal candidate will be a customer focused, innovative leader with exceptional retail marketing experience and a very creative mindset as well as. They should also be able to demonstrate the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and meet financial objectives in the retail areas.

Position Summary

Responsible for food quality & customer service in an operation that may have branded concepts or other retail offerings. Directs the work of hourly & supervisory food service workers.

Key Duties

  • Ensures there is a zero harm mindset for ourselves, our customers, our food & employees.

  • Directs daily operations of food quality & customer service in a retail food operation that may include branded concepts ensuring that employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources.

  • Manages cash handling protocols & control procedures according to Sodexo policies.

  • Maintains client satisfaction for food quality & customer service.

  • Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery.

  • Supervises day-to-day work activities of food service workers.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent

Basic Management Experience - 1 year
