Sodexo Government Services - North America is seeking a qualified leader for the Senior Vice President position for our West Coast Operation s. This SVP position has responsibility for directing the efforts of all District Managers and direct reports across primarily the West/Mid West regions for our prestigous Client Base - U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army and the Intelligence business with a primary focus on customer/client engagement. He/she provides leadership and direction for all business aspects within the assigned area of this territory, including account operations, growth, and retention, team development and training, and financial growth, accountability and operation excellence.

Contract Design & Managment: Critcal the to the execution of our governemnt contracts for the Department of Defense and the Federal Business

Location: Position will need to reside in the West Coast, ideal location Camp Pendleton, CA area due to the proximity to the U.S. Marine Corps base.

Government /Military experience or working knowledge a desired skill/compentency

Our Government Segment NORAM is highly regulated and monitored therefore adding a level(s) of complexity to conduct our business and a level of accountability not experienced in other Segments within Sodexo. Knowledge or demonstrated experience with the following laws/regulations, agencies is perferable for this leaderhisp opportunity:

  • Federal Acquisition Regulation ( FAR ) -

  • Sodexo Government Segment is held to special rules apply to service contracts . They must be performance-based to the extent practicable, with measurable outcomes. There are specific requirements for performance work statements (PWS) for service contracts requiring performance-based standards. Agency supplements also require performance-based acquisitions. Includes approval of contracts and task orders for services.

  • McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act -

  • Record Keeping under the SCA requires Government Services to record actual daily weekly hours works is performed and a positive approval on all time worked. We use a separate “manual” time keep system

  • U.S. Small Business Act (SBA) - Segment needs to engage and partner with small business / sub-contractors.

  • Buy American Act - required the United States Government to prefer U.S.-made products in its purchases

  • U.S Ability One Commission – compliance to provide employment opportunities for people who are blind or have significant disabilities in the manufacture and delivery of products and services to the FederalGovernment

  • Defense Logistics Agency - DLA is the Department of Defense's (DoD) largest combat support agency. DLA sources and provides nearly all of the consumable items America’s military forces need to operate – from food, fuel and energy to uniforms, medical supplies and construction material

  • Executive Orders – mandated by the White House i.e. pending EO mandating sick policies to federal contractors.

  • Stringent Government Employment Background Checks (in addition to Sodexo’s) – primarily in the secure business, Agency, FBI, etc. can be a challenge on recruitment; but all employees are subject to higher security checks

  • Penalties - include financial in addition to other administrative, civil, and criminal penalties provided by law; impact to Sodexo as a company.

The SVP provides a major focus for:

  • Client relationship management, business retention, and new business development.

  • Ensuring that all employees under his/her operational control comply with all client, government, corporate and Segment policies and procedures.

  • And works under the general direction of the CEO for the business segment in North America

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Articulates the strategic business value of Sodexo to Area clients/prospects by bringing targeted solutions from the full portfolio of services.

  • Promotes a client/customer-centric operating culture that strives to exceed client goals, objectives, requirements and expectations.

  • Oversees the overall development activities, including positioning, strategy development, customer negotiations, contract review, and pricing/costing.

  • Ensures Sodexo’s Segment goals and objectives are met or exceeded in the Area through District Managers and their support teams.

  • Achieves Segment goals by providing the leadership, management and oversight necessary to ensure that the Area’s portfolio of business has the proper solutions, products, metrics and talent in place to effectively grow the organization and meet/exceed defined revenue and profitability targets and other KPIs.

  • Responsible for innovation ideation to expand Sodexo’s Service Solutions for current and prospective clients.

  • Resolves client problems and concerns with agility and professionalism. Establishes organizational protocols and systems to identify client issues, trends, and opportunities and effectively integrate them into Area strategies.

  • Balances retention efforts at current clients with new business development within the region.

  • Reallocates resources across the Area to ensure operational excellence in all Area accounts.

  • Works closely with Service Operations and Transversal functions associated with the segment.

  • Hire, grow and develop talent.Takes quick and decisive action on employee issues and performance problems. Provides positive and constructive feedback to employees by coaching, mentoring, counseling and developing talent for future growth.

  • In collaboration with Business Development and Service Operations, designs and implements Strategic Partnership programs for the business portfolio that create value for clients/prospects.

  • Responsible for the portfolio's communications and marketing plans to ensure we drive business outcomes for both the client and Sodexo.

  • Establishes visibility and relevance for Sodexo in the Area’s industry by preparing presentations to management groups, leadership groups and boards to explain the company’s market position and initiatives.

  • As a Change Champion, prepares the region culture to adapt to and embrace ongoing, fundamental changes that will enable the business to grow and prosper.

  • Leverages Sodexo’s commitment to diversity and inclusion to extend Sodexo’s reach in Area communities.

Position Summary

Responsible for strategic and business planning and management for a specific geography within a Division. Provides leadership and direction for all business aspects within the assigned geography including account operations, growth, and retention, staff development and training, and financial growth and accountability.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's degree

Basic Management Experience - 10 years

Basic Functional Experience - 5 years of multi-unit, support, or strategic leadership experience.
