Unit Description

Executive Chef 2 opportunity within Corporate Services at a high-profile law firm located in lower Manhattan in New York, NY. Sodexo oversees a full-service corporate cafe, conference center catering/dining, coffee pantries and employee loung/vending at this location. This is a working chef position in a high production environment. The Executive Chef will manage up to 15 employees, working side by side with his/her team to ensure a excellent quality of food. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation a must and ability to lead team through example and consistency. In this high visibility role, this position will work under the Executive Chef III, supporting in all culinary functions and tasks as needed. We are looking for a strong culinarian and a team player with great customer service!!! This is a great opportunity for chef with passion for food and desire to grow and develop.

Position Summary

Designs, supervises, coordinates and participates in activities of cooks and other kitchen personnel in a medium to large account. This position is recognized as the technical expert, teacher and trainer for other chefs and cooks within the account. Selects and develops recipes and other items for clients. Develops menu, implements and trains HACCP, oversees/purchases food, establishes production levels and inventory controls, interviews and hires new chefs, manages/controls food cost issues and offer solutions, may train other chefs outside account. May cook selected items, and plan or price menus. Typically has chefs and cooks reporting to this position.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
