Unit Description

Sodexo Corporate Services has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Controller for a large district in New York, NY.

Your principal responsibilities include ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial results for both Sodexo and the Clients. Manages all accounting and financial matters for a large account and smaller accounts in the district. Responsibilities include accounts payable/receivable, budget, payroll, reporting, inventory, chargeback's, etc. Responsible for accounting and financial reporting. Analyzes account budget(s). Performs financial analysis to assist decision making. Provides financial training for unit personnel.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Coordinate regional financial reports for the client, analyse variances to budget and communicate on such variances

  • Full P&L, Fee & multi-unit financial responsibility

  • Break-even analysis

  • Monitor deadlines for submission of financial reports for the district

  • Labor and food cost analysis

  • Monthly client invoicing and review

  • Quarterly financial reporting for each client

  • Budgets for each client which are a combination of fees/P&L/cost plus

  • Hold all management team accountable for their areas in regards to finances.

  • Coordinate with appropriate personnel on payment updates for outstanding invoices where necessary

  • Ad hoc projects / duties as required

Position Summary

Manages all accounting and financial matters for either a large multi-size national account OR a large complex single location account

Key Duties

  • Data Collection from field - data review, analysis and suggestion of process improvement, review of FSC spot audits, accounts receivable review, review of new business,

  • Oversight and direction of annual budgeting process & oversight and direction of period close process for all sites for Sodexo and Client, creation and maintenance of area forecasts, oversight of Project Clear compliance for portfolio.

  • Financial Training and development of Sodexo General Managers.

  • Creation, delivery & presentation of client specific financial reports as needed

  • Oversight, training and support of POS systems and other cashless technology

-Train other controllers, analysts and field in contract interpretation, accounting procedures, system applications, and other areas

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement -Bachelor’s Degree

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years of experience in finance, accounting or related field
