The hospital has an average daily census of 125 and a dietitian team of three experienced individuals. There are opportunities to advance in this growing hospital system. East Texas has a low cost of living and is a great place to raise a family.

The ideal candidate will:
Be a Registered Dietitian/ Nutritionist, Licensed Dietitian in Texas. Will consider candidates that are registry Dietitian eligible (must pass RD exam within 6 months of employment)
prefer prior experience in acute care, critical care, utilizing the nutrition care process, electronic health records charting, experience with Sodexo’ s Premier Room Service Program "At your Request” or prior room service program
Have the responsibility to work with all patients with a variety of disease states providing nutrition care
The ability to work well with physicians, nursing, and ancillary staff and collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently and be outcome focused
There may be the potential to travel to the sister facility in Livingston, TX for RD coverage on a rotating basis
The opportunity to participate in Performance Improvement projects assist with department performance improvement, participate in employee training and patient satisfaction
Excellent time management skills and be a self-starter

Responsible for providing direct basic nutrition services
-Provides nutrition care to population served to ensure needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.
-Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.
-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy.
-Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexho resource when necessary.
-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.
-Follows operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree
Basic Functional Experience - Meets eligibility requirements for certification as a Registered Dietitian
