Currently, Sodexo has an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Food Services Operations Manager 1 for a new University account at New Mexico Highland University in Las Vegas, New Mexico - 60 miles east of the Santa Fe, NM area . With a growing population base, the school is poised for expansion in the next several years. This Operations Manager will report to the General Manager and will oversee the Food Retail and Catering Operations on campus.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous Sodexo Food Retail and Catering management background in a university setting or large volume sectors of Healthcare, Sports and Leisure, or large corporate settings.

  • Hands-on management approach , comfortable communication style and strong team building skills as the successful candidate will interact with students, staff, faculty, client, and hourly employees. We are seeking a collaborative management style and active role in the campus community.

  • Drive and passion for the industry - Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to work successfully with diverse clients, students and employees.

Position Summary

Assumes General Manager's (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence in complex multi-functional accounts. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Responsible for financial/Human Resources (HR) functions. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
