Unit Description

Sodexo currently has a job opportunity for a Patient Service Manager 2 , to join our food services health-care team at Baptist Medical Center, a 450+-bed acute care facility located in Jacksonville, FL . In this role, you will be responsible for day to day operations of the patient meal program that utilizes "At Your Request" and "Expressly for You” Room Service Programs and direct supervision of 50 Sodexo hourly associates.

This is a s howcase account for Sodexo and the Patient Service Manager will have high patient and nursing interaction. We are seeking candidates that can foster relationships with nursing and work with them to meet the needs of the patients.

Responsibilities will include

  • Oversight of the Patient Services area, patient food service production, and diet office

  • Ensuring excellence in service quality and delivery schedules

  • Acting as the liaison between the dietitians, nursing managers and the units. This role will participate in patient safety, patient experience initiatives.

  • Works with the diet office to review and address any patient menu/meal concern. Conducts patient rounding and works with hospital dietitians on patient nutritional needs.

  • Responsible for identifying process improvement initiatives and overseeing the implementation.

  • Employee training for compliance, safety, sanitation, customer service and more.

  • Regularly analyzes patient satisfaction data and implements additional measurements and action plans in these areas to achieve optimal unit performance.

  • Ensuring and driving efforts for Gold Check Standards

  • Creating a positive environment and successfully motivating and managing a team.

  • Cash handling/management in the Cafe when needed.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years food management experience, a strong working knowledge of food safety and sanitation compliance, computer literacy as well as excellent leadership, communication and customer service skills. CDM Certification would be a plus.

Position Summary

Provides direction, guidance, and supervision/direction of patient hospitality employees at patient care units. Serves as senior and primary representative of patient care activities. Position takes an active role in finance/cost controls of patient meal services. Manages initiatives for job redesign and process improvement, including interdepartmental improvements with nursing staff.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
