Unit Description

Sodexo Universities Dining has an opening for a Catering Manager 1 at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO. As a part of the dynamic Mines management team, this position will assist the Catering Director in selling and managing all catered events and overseeing 8-10 employees on campus. Duties include event oversight, client interaction, guest satisfaction, equipment and product inventories, cash handling and coordinating billing with the main office.

Reporting to the Catering Director, the ideal Catering Manager candidate will possess the following:

  • Previous catering/banquet management experience, ideally within a college or university setting.

  • Very high degree of professionalism and proven ability to work independently.

  • Very strong organizational and communication skills.

  • High expectations and delivery of customer and client satisfaction.

  • Ability to train and develop hourly staff.

  • Passion for food and innovation.

Position Summary

Manages all catered events. Hires, schedules, and trains catering staff. Works with clients/customers to arrange and follow through on all catering details and to ensure all special requests are met. Directs setup for events. Responsible for pricing, billing and resolving customer complaints. Develops menu/costing.

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED
