Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join their dynamic team atFlushing Hospital, a 325 bed community hospital. This position will cover the higher acuity patients and will be seen as a mentor by our entry level dietitians. CDN and/or CNSC a plus.

We are looking for candidates who will:

  • Be a Registered Dietitian with 1-2 years of experience in the acute care setting

  • Work as part of the clinical team providing nutrition care to a variety of patient populations and disease states

  • Provide education to patients as well as staff and work well with physicians, nursing and ancillary staff.

  • Have excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • familiarity with the Nutrition Care Process and Electronic Health Records is preferred at the unit

  • strong comprehension of the principles of clinical nutrition practice

  • a Registered Dietitian, eligible for licensure in the state if applicable

  • the ability to meet DOH/state/federal and company standards

  • Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills

Position Summary

Provides comprehensive nutrition assessments and care planning for patients/residents. Plans special diets and supervises their preparation. Instructs patients/residents and/or hospital personnel in principles of nutrition and modifications of normal diet. Performs routine care responsibilities without training and direction.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian.
