Unit Description

Sodexo Corporate Services is seeking a Chef Manager for Bristol-Myers Squibb located in East Syracuse, NY. This location has a MV of 250K and a building population of 100. The food operation consist of a cafe and catering operations.

The Chef Manager will conduct daily financial activities such as cash handling, A/P, and culinary. The Chef Manager finalizes the weeks financials in UFS. Other Duties include:Open/close unit on a daily basis, complete daily ordering, monthly inventory, monthly safety audits, ensuring compliance and HAACP procedures, maintaining high culinary retail standards for the operation, and supervision of 2 hourly employees.

The successful candidate will have at least 1 year lead culinary experience, a strong working knowledge of food safety & sanitation guidelines, prior experience managing an hourly production staff as well as excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills. Prior culinary management experience in corporate dining would be a plus for this role.

Position Summary

Supervises cooks and oversees the preparation, portioning, garnishing, and storage of food. Estimates food consumption and purchases food. May assist in cooking and preparing food as necessary. Responsible for maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary condition. Responsible for cash management. Interacts with client/customers on a regular basis. This position is the leader for an account/unit chef/production group. This position is in smaller accounts/units where there is not a Executive Chef or Food Production Manager. Reports to General Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree

Basic Management Experience - 1 year

Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
