Position: Banker/Cashier II



Position Summary: 



• Understands and follows all Sodexo and unit specific cash handling procedures.

• Maintains proper security of cash at all times.

• Verifies amounts turned in from various locations, fills change orders, responsible for preparing bank deposits, and coin re-deposits.

• Verifying of safe funds and balancing of the deposit.





Typical Knowledge and Skills: 



Learns and applies procedures and processes to meet the requirements for the position. Focuses primarily on own area of responsibility. Ability to calculate numbers, correct entries, and post to appropriate deposit calculation programs (i.e. Microsoft excel, or Tangent/Micros). Ability to effectively communicate accounting information, policies, and/or procedures in a manner easily understood by the NPO groups, and Sodexo cashiers.



Typical Requirements:



• Education or Equivalent Experience: High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.

• Supervisor/Managerial Experience: None.

• Function Specific Experience: None.

• Certification Requirements: None.



Supervision: Individual would report to all or some of the following depending upon the unit. Unit Controller(s), Operations Manager, and/or General Manager.



Supervision Received: Supervisor provides general supervision with instructions given for routine work and detailed instructions given for new lines of work or special assignments. Supervisor will act as verification on all deposits and safe audits.



Supervision Provided: Assists in instructing all NPO and Sodexo cashiers in the proper filling out of all forms (i.e. drop slips, final slips, and change order slips).



Working Conditions: 



Work is performed in an area that is adequately lighted and ventilated.

• Washes dishes by hand or places them in a dishwashing machine.

• Washes work tables, walls, refrigerators and meat blocks.

• Sweeps, mops, cleans, and vacuums floors.

• Removes trash and garbage to designated areas.

• Transfers supplies and equipment within and between storage and work areas such as pantry and dish room.

• Cleans equipment using specific chemicals to insure sanitary standards.

• Polishes silver.

• May buff floors using heavy equipment and steam cleans trash cans.

Main job duty of employee is to work concession events with the purpose of end of night computer checkout.



- Performs routine clerical duties in accordance with the unit’s standard procedures.

- Performs activities such as photocopying, computer data entry, and record filing, including human resource sensitive information.

- May assist Unit Controller with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

- Operates various office machines

- Answers telephone and conveys messages.

- Assist Unit Controller with NPO check in.

- May receive, count, and deposit cash as needed.

Unit Description:

The Director of Operations will have complete management of a $12 million dollar concessions and catering operation at The Ohio State University reporting to the Area General Manager. Responsibilities include daily contact with university officials and overseeing the entire food and beverage operation at all of the university athletic and entertainment facilities to include the Schottenstein Center and Football Stadium. Maintaining client relations with the OSU Athletic department and all other internal departments and affiliates will be one of the primary functions of this position.

Complete profit and loss responsibility for planning, directing and controlling an upscale catering, suite catering, concessions, club concessions, and training table operation.
* Supervise all aspects of design and construction related activities at all of the Ohio State athletic facilities.

Manage daily operations, including product and equipment purchasing, recruiting, training, merchandising, cost controlling, and accounting for all phases of concessions contract between Sodexo and The Ohio State University Athletic Department.

Further enhance and continue ongoing training and development plans for existing and new staff members.

Position Summary:
