Lead, grow and inspire! Sodexo's School Services Division is seeking a motivated Food Service Manager at Academy 20 School District located in Colorado Springs, CO; overseeing 18-20 employees throughout 20 locations. This position will report directly to the General Manager and will oversee the program standards and school nutrition operations. This school district has base and satellite kitchens.

Day to day, this role will be responsible for insuring a high level of standards, compliance with the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs district wide and directly overseeing cafeteria operations.

  • A self-starter with stellar communication skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Experienced in managing food service in an education environment.

  • Able to work independently.

  • Detail oriented and organized.

Desired Experience:

  • Large volume schools experience.

  • Well versed with NSLP.

  • Experience overseeing remote locations.

  • Ability to travel between schools on a daily basis, as needed.

  • Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.

Position Summary

Responsible for managing multi-functional food service areas in a single unit. May assume General Manager's (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence. Assists in maintenance of cash control and payroll records. Assists in supporting the financial/Human Resources (HR) functions. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED

Basic Management Experience - 1 year

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
