Sodexo has an opportunity for a Vice President (VP), Construction & Project Management. As the successful candidate you will bring the leadership and executive presence needed for this VP position coupled with a strong construction background in hospitals. The technical aspects of this position are extremely important however equally matched is the ability to connect with all stakeholders utilizing strong inter-personal skills.

In this role you will be responsible for developing a corporate strategy for the construction department, overall program and planning management, leading our team in financial budgeting and reporting, making key financial decisions and analyzing the annual capital and operating plan and monthlyforecast. You will work with senior leaders throughout the company to enhance value of capital project planning services and ensure operational strength and flexibility. Additionally, you will develop and foster relationships with key community stakeholders and partner companies to ensure a strong ecosystem supporting successful delivery of multiple levels of ongoing construction and capital projects.

This position (Vice President Construction & Project Management) is responsible for design, development and project management delivery of capital construction projects (current campus expansions and multiple capital asset joint ventures). This position serves as the health system representative on multiple major capital construction projects with a total scope in excess of $100 million annually across the health system. Additionally, this position provides capital project consultation (design, development and delivery of the health system’s capital assets) and construction leadership to various health system executive leaders.

Accountabilities include financial management and direction of multiple internal and external project management teams, project consultants, contractors, vendors, as well as direct interface and service with/to internal end user groups. Additional accountabilities include: schematic design development and management, agency review, project permitting management and change order management. This position will also be accountable for developing and maintaining timely delivery of reports including financial information such as monthly and annual budgets as well as budget/preparation for capital investment projects/proposals.

Functional Expectations for this role:

On time and on budget delivery of multiple capital construction projects. Responsible for development and negotiation of contracts, maintaining margins according to established objectives and compliance with regulatory agencies (Joint Commission, TDH, TDLR, City and various other municipalities). Serves in hands-on role in nearly every aspect of construction management, and maintains efficient and engaged team structure with a high focus on talent development. Delivers performance through analytics, processes and tools, maximizes new client engagement and works with the leadership team in development plans to meet future needs.

This position coordinates with both external and internal user groups for the benefit of the health system (i.e., senior leaders, management and outside partners) to develop and complete capital construction projects which satisfy the needs of various stakeholders. This position will collaborate and manage project teams assembled from the end user group representatives, contract professionals (i.e., architects, engineers, etc.) and general contractors. Projects must be effectively delivered as evidenced by project budget, schedule adherence, quality, long-term operating efficiency and durability.

This executive will have very strong inter-personal skills both with verbal communication, written and interacting at the C-Suite level. Business, financial and construction acumen is key for representation of the health system’s best interests in such ventures.

Position Summary

The Vice President of Facilities Operations leads facilities maintenance operations of building(s) and property at a single mega-site or multi-site unit with four levels of management reporting up to this position. This position leads the integration of processes within the client organization to maintain and develop agreed services which support and improve the effectiveness of its primary activities. At the organizational level, the Vice President of Facilities Operations contributes to the delivery of strategic and operational objectives by reducing facility costs, and improving the productivity, revenue generating capacity and image of the entire organization. This position ensures a safe and efficient working environment, essential to the performance of the business. The Vice President of Facilities Operations manages construction work and may coordinate and/or oversee contracted services for major construction. The position often manages other core Sodexo services, and/or logistics of business/operations services, e.g., grounds keeping, laundry, food, security, inventory, mail, concierge services.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement- Bachelor's degree

Basic Management Experience- 4 years

Basic Functional Experience- 5 years in facilities management, engineering, management of business/operations service in both soft and hard facilities services
