In this role, you will direct and participate in all of the daily food operations for their patient meal services which is currently utilizing “At Your Request,” a room service meal program. The best qualified candidate will be a self-starter with stellar communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. A Registered Dietitian is required for this role.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Direct oversight of the Diet Office and supervision of 29 Diet Office hourly staff & 155 patient services hourly staff

  • Perform detailed programming functions to make changes to the Health Touch database to ensure patient menu items being offered match the menu options available

  • Serve as the lead programmer to liaison between Health Touch and University Hospitals Health System to communicate and resolve ongoing database issues and communicate changes to the hospital sites and also act as a liaison during crises leading to system downtimes

  • Function as the point person during menu revision “go-lives” to ensure integrity of the patient menu order entry system is uninterrupted

  • Daily patient meal rounding utilizing Service Depot, interacting with patients and nursing staff

  • Identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives to increase patient satisfaction

  • Ensuring food safety and sanitation compliance

  • Oversee patient tray line to ensure meal accuracy

Position Summary

Provides direction, guidance, and supervision/direction of patient hospitality employees at patient care units. Serves as senior and primary representative of patient care activities. Position takes an active role in finance/cost controls of patient meal services. Manages initiatives for job redesign and process improvement, including interdepartmental improvements with nursing staff.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
