Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a Patient Transport Manager for our X-press segment at Swedish Covenant Hospital, a 334 bed nonprofit medical center located on the northwest side of Chicago. This is a day shift opportunity (some evenings may be required). Sodexo not only manages, but also staffs the Central Transport department as well as Front Desk Services. Will oversee a team of 35-40. Will need to be able to cover other shifts as the business dictates. Responsibilities of the department includes patient transport to and from: diagnostic testing areas, physical therapy, surgery and emergency room. Also, responsible for various rounds including pharmacy, central service, specimen, and oxygen. Manager will also be responsible for single employee working equipment delivery on 3rd shift. The successful manager will be responsible to cover for the General Manager in case of absence. Qualified candidate should have previous patient transport experience as well as experience on either Tele-Tracking, patient transport software, or TDSS software. Previous management experience is a plus. A strong dynamic personality would thrive in this environment, to also include strong managerial skills and the ability to work across various departments with other leaders.

Position Summary

Provides oversight and management for two or more of the following services: Transport, Concierge and/or Service Response Center (SRC). Ensures systems and standards equity for all automated systems. Assumes Operations Manager/ General Manager's responsibility and authority in his/her absence. Hires and trains unit personnel.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in functional areas such as call center technology, computer applications, process improvement, or related areas
