SodexoMagic has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resource Manager 2 supporting Chicago Public Schools. This is a union account in the K-12 education market. Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Employee relations and responding to inquiries from frontline staff regarding HR programs and policies;

  • Works closely with Director and Managers to ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements as well as Sodexo human resource policy and procedures;

  • Oversees and assists with payroll, vacation and sick leave tracking;

  • Maintains personnel files, employment records and reports;

  • Assists in unit hiring, overseeing all aspects of the new hire orientation and on-boarding process;

  • Assist with Union Relations;

  • Participate in and/or lead HR initiatives and special projects.

Job Qualifications Include:

  • Minimum of 3 years HR Generalist experience;

  • Knowledge of human resources practices, procedures, as well as federal, state, and local labor laws;

  • Must have experience working in a union environment, preferably working with union contracts, union relations and compliance;

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills( both verbal and written) with the ability to effectively present and explain to a variety of audiences;

  • Proficient with MS office, including Advanced Excel;

  • Organized, detail oriented with proven ability to multi-task;

  • Results driven with a focus on process improvement;

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Position Summary

Functions as the leader for multiple core services, in a single account and/or multiple locations within the same contract. Single point of contact and/or client liaison in support of business that in total is greater than $10 million in managed volume

Key Duties

  • Monitors operations by planned and unplanned visits to each operating account of the system to plan projects, implement new processes, client interactions, and new technology to ensure sufficient resources.

  • Develops business plan and budget w/each account GM that supports the System and District goals – Reviews and analyzes financial statements and data and other financial information to ensure attainment of financial goals for both the client and Sodexo.

  • Central Point of Contact for Client Liaison promoting a solid business partnership - assists in contract negotiations for the system.

  • Maintains Quality & Company Standards – reviews and maintains reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Sodexo / System Client(s) policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for system succession planning/employee development/diversity initiatives/training/constructive counseling. Promotes and supports workplace diversity initiatives.

  • Provides strategic leadership to the respective units within the system to maintain client satisfaction and retention

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience – 1 year of HR experience
