Job #65018 - Sodexo is seeking a Senior Level Executive Chef (III) for Elim Park in Cheshire, CT. This is a 350 Resident Exclusive 5 Star Retirement Community that offers; fine dining, casual dining, comfort care dining, and an employee and guest café. Elim Park is conveniently located in the historic town of Cheshire and offers the charm of small-town living along with easy access to the many dining, cultural and entertainment venues in nearby New Haven, Hartford and New York City. Sodexo, at Elim Park, provides support services including: housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, and dining services.

Ideal Candidate Skills, Certification:

Culinary Degree / Trade School Certificate, a Servsafe Certificate

CCRC / Contract Food Service Management experience

Ability to manager 2 – 8 million in financial volume

Strong Culinary background; fine dining, retail, and catering

Working knowledge of HACCP protocols for regulatory compliance

Hands on skills with inventory management, on-line ordering

Experience creating and developing menus & pricing

Skills to train & develop 25 employees / food production teams

Ability to manage multiple and at time, competing priorities

Computer skills; Health Touch, Food & Labor Systems

Exp; Hotel / Fine Dining / Upscale Retirement Community / Contract Management would be ideal!

Schedule varies 9am-7pm / 11am-9pm with some weekends and holidays

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a large sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.

Key Duties

  • Implements & coordinates the culinary function.

  • Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.

  • Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.

  • Manages catering & retail areas.

  • Customer & Client satisfaction.

  • Financial management to include food cost & labor management.

  • Manages food & physical safety programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree

Basic Management Experience - 3 years

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
