Unit Description

Sodexo, quality of life services, has a new opening for a Program Specialist 1 in the Merchant Service Reconciliation department at our office in Buffalo, NY.

Merchant Service Reconciliation consists of a.) five primary reconcilers that reconciles an average workload of 650 cost centers and b.) three SME reconcilers (with a higher technical skill which represents the level of this open position) responsible for another 1200 + units, which also handle other department responsibilities, such as training, recovery of company assets, and support of cost savings initiatives led by Treasury that are mentioned above.

Additionally, this job has responsibility to assist with Cashless Solution/ Gift Card reconciliation, such as Tim Horton's Gift Card Processing, Starbuck's Gift Card Processing, Freedom Pay, Tapingo, Pantry.


  • Maintain timely reconciliation of non-standard Credit Card Activity and/ or Payment Card Activity using Frontier, SAP, and third party vendor applications.

  • Investigate and resolve Merchant Service issues escalated by Merchant Service reconcilers.

  • Identify, Monitor, Investigate, and Resolve missing credit card batches to mitigate risk of loss of company assets

  • Research and Resolve escalated Accounts Receivable Invoice Payments as they relate to Merchant Service Activities

  • Research, Analyze, and Explain to External Field Operations Credit Card related expenses, such as equipment charges and chargebacks.

  • Provide recommendations to Merchant Service Management of end- to-end process improvements for Merchant Service processes.

  • Monitor and Assist in Reconciliation Tool Improvements to automate and enhance efficiencies and secure enhancements in exception based reconciliations

  • Participate in department project initiatives

  • Perform various special projects to support the Merchant Service Reconciliation team as needed.

  • Train New Staff on Department Procedures

  • Ability to communicate with Other Internal Departments and External Field Operations to troubleshoot Merchant Service reconciliation issues.

Minimum Education/Experience Required

  • 2 years Accounting/Business courses (including High School)

  • 3-4 years of Demonstrated Accounting Reconciliation experience

  • Associates Degree in Accounting or Business (preferred)
