Sodexo is seeking a Food Retail Manager (II) for Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) in Charlotte, North Carolina . This is the 874 bed flagship hospital of Carolinas Healthcare System. This position reports to the Retail Operations Director and is responsible for the management and execution of the food retail operations; cafeteria and two coffee shops, implements and develops Sodexo’s retail strategy to drive sales, revenue and customer satisfaction for the medical center employees and their guestsas part of the management team.

Additional Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Continue to innovate the retail offerings at this account to follow health and wellness oriented food and culinary trends

  • Provide the customer with a consistent quality experience.

  • Maintain cash control and payroll records, as well as inventory, and purchasing

  • Assist with monitors;unit annual retail budget of2 million

  • Assist with monitors;labor and sales reporting

  • Assist with teambuilding and scheduling of75employees

  • Ensure compliance to food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standards

  • Drive sales, revenue, customer and client satisfaction

  • This is a very hands-on position, with the manager assisting in rush periods

  • Position works collaboratively with the Sodexo management team to ensure the highest level of client satisfaction

  • Ability to drive sales and be a strong leader in a very fast paced retail environment

  • Ability to execute retail food service initiatives quickly, effectively and efficiently

  • Impeccable follow through with ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Strongsupervisory/management experience

  • Knowledge of current health and wellness culinary concepts

  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability towork in ametrics/ customer servicedriven environment

  • Strong understanding of retail marketing concepts and strategies

  • Self-motivated withability to work independently & in a team

  • Understanding of Sodexo systems is beneficial

Position Summary

Maintains food quality and customer service in a cash handling retail food operation that includes branded concepts, in-house formats and signature designs. May assume General Manager's (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence. Assists in maintenance of cash control and payroll records. Assists in supporting the financial/Human Resources (HR) functions. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED

Basic Management Experience - 1 year

Basic Functional Experience - 1 year of work experience in concessions, retail sales, or store operations.
