Sodexo is looking for a Retail Operations Manager for Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ

Cooper University Hospital does approximately $ 2million retail business consisting of 4 coffee shops and the Oasis Restaurant (upscale restaurant) . This is a Non-union environment consisting of approximately 40 employees.

The retail manager will manage up to 40 employees between the retail operations and the Oasis Restaurant. Hours will be 8:30-6:00 Monday through Friday with some weekends and rotating holidays. Someone with strong restaurant/retail experience in corporate dining would be a great asset for this position.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage retail programs to Sodexo / Client specifications

  • Create daily promotions, monthly calendars and execute promotions to drive sales and participation

  • Maintain POS and all Signage and Electronic Communications

  • Maintain operational excellence, high quality of product and high level of customer service

  • Interact with customers and clients on a daily basis

  • Train front line staff in customer service, cross training on job duties, safety and sanitation standards

  • Analyze sales data to make informed business decisions on employee schedules, employee tasks, recommend hours of operation and offer mix

  • Plan employee schedules and monitor SPLH

  • Manage C-Store and drive profitability

  • Recruit, Hire and Train frontline employees

The best qualified candidate will have strong P&L job skills, experience in cafe renovation, prior cash handling experience, and previous corporate dining experience. Strong technical aptitude, including Microsoft Excel and Power Point proficiency is also highly preferred.

Position Summary

Directs all retail operations at a large single or multi site account/unit. Drives revenue, profitability and quality of retail business while enhancing and ensuring standards are met at all times. Plays a key role in the implementation and evaluation of product/service offerings, brands and/or in-house signature and national brands Maintains cash control and payroll records. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Senior-most person assigned to client account reporting to District Manager (DM) or Resident District Manager (RDM).

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years of experience in retail operations
