Unit Description

Buffalo General is a 525 Bed acute care facility in the Kaleida System. T his position is over our Retail Operations which include in house brands of OBC, Sub Connections, STG, and Catering Operations This position will be responsible for Training, Employee Engagement, and play a vital role in Food Costs and portion controls. Current Volume is expected to increase by 30% with the addition of the Children's Hospital merging into to the existing building. Must be proficient in Cash Handling procedures and Union experience is a plus.

"At Your Request" patient dining program, retail cafeteria, internal catering services and food production. This is a 535 acute care hospital managing client unionized employee's. Responsibilities and key expectations for this position include:

  • Lead the front line staff in providing an exceptional customer service experience every day

  • Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation to all customers served

  • Food ordering and production knowledge

  • Implement new programs and systems to support our food service operations

  • Maintain HACCP and safety standards for the operation

  • Maintain Sodexo's cash handling standards, accounting, and reporting processes

  • Help promote and drive wellness program menus and offerings

  • Partner with front-line staff to enhance engagement and develop their skill sets

  • Ability to build and maintain strong client and customer relationships

  • Integrate fully within our client's organization mission and goals

  • Must meet (or exceed) Sodexo standards of operations.

  • Successfully motivates and manages team in a fast paced environment.

This is the perfect opportunity for candidates with high level management experience in fast paced and high volume accounts who may be ready for a General Management role, or who have previously been in a General Management role.

Position Summary

Manages all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and directly supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Assumes General Manager’s (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 4 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
